Step 2  of the process is searching for your new home. There are two multiple listing services that serve the Metro Atlanta area. First Multiple Listing Service (FMLS) and Georgia Multiple Listing Service (GAMLS). While most brokerages utilize both services to market their listings, there will be some properties in one service that do not appear in the other. Therefore you should search both MLS sites when searching for your home. Both of the sites require the use of the Internet Explorer browser.

In addition there is another search engine called Bid Select that is utilized by Pemco, Ltd., the management company contracted by The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide property information for HUD owned properties. Properties owned by HUD are simply foreclosed properties that had loans insured by The Federal Housing Administration (FHA). Once a property with an FHA loan has been foreclosed on it is managed by Pemco, Ltd. While HUD listings are marketed through local agents and they do appear in GAMLS, the most up to date information on HUD owned properties is found through the link below.
